Warriors caretaker coach Norman Mapeza has said that the door is not completely shut for Ipswich Town Forward Macauley Bonne to play for the Warriors.
The 25 year old forward who has been called for national duty on several occasions has snubbed national team call ups and Mapeza says he will try to understand his reasons for doing so.
“When I was appointed coach, I was told that Bonne has constantly been snubbing call-ups, which is rather unfortunate.”
”So, when we called up the team for the Ghana match, we actually didn’t even consider him, but that does not mean the door has been completely shut for him.”
”We will consider him in the future, but I still need to talk to him first. I need to hear his side of the story instead of relying on one source. I will talk to him and try to understand his reasons,”the Warriors gaffer said in a statement to the media.
Bonne was not called up for the national squad to play in the back to back World Cup Qualifiers against Ghana.
The England born forward has been in terrific form for Ipswich town where he has scored an incredible eight goals in seven games and would have been a welcome addition to the warriors squad.
