Former Zimbabwe Warriors skipper and FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza has been appointed Warriors caretaker ahead of the World Cup qualifiers against Ghana.

ZBC confirmed the development on their twitter account and also revealed the technical department.

“Just in..@online_zifa has appointed Norman Mapeza as Warriors Coach,”ZBC posted.

Mapeza will be deputised by Taurai Mangwiro and Bongani Mafu.

The Galatasaray legend’s appointment comes a few days after ZIFA sacked Croatian coach Logarusic over a string of poor results.

Mapeza will be the Warriors gaffer until December as ZIFA looks to rescue Zimbabwe’s World Cup Qualification back on track.

Former warriors shotstopper Energy Murambadoro has also been roped in as goalkeeper’s coach.

The Warriors will do battle in the 2022 Qatar World Cup Qualifiers with back to back fixtures against Ghana next month
