President Emmerson Mnangagwa says the Postal Sector should facilitate the provision of electronic platforms on government services, to make use of emerging technologies
Mnangagwa made the remarks during the Official opening ceremony of the 10th Ordinary Session of the Plenipotentiary Conference of the Pan African Postal Union (PAPU) in Victoria Falls.
“The postal sector should facilitate provision of government services on electronic platforms.”
“With the growth of e-commerce scope exists for innovations such as online shopping.”, he said.
Mnangagwa added that the provision of Information Communication and technology should be leveraged and enable citizens to receive services without being inclined to visit service centers.
While the Adoption of new technologies comes attached with some risks hence PAPU regulatory authorities must come in to deal with cyber criminals.
Speaking during the same event Minister ICT, Postal & Courier Services Jenfan Muswere said, “ The internet has presented the sector with various opportunities to adapt and foster into action.”
“ The postal sector needs to adapt new technologies and contribute to sustainable socio economic development,” he said.
