No vaccination, no table at Mbare market place

VICE President Constantino Chiwenga who doubles as the Minister of Health, has highlighted that those in market places like Mbare musika should get vaccinated or risk not acquiring tables.

Chiwenga’s remarks comes after government announced the procurement of more vaccines amid shortages in the country.

According to the government 500 000 Sinopharm vaccines are expected to arrive on Saturday , with 2 million more in the process of being procured.

In his address on Thursday while he received a donation of 57 PCR testing machines from Satewave Technologies , Chiwenga said that , as cases increase government is expecting everyone to be vaccinated , while targeting hotspots in the country.

“With the continued rise in Covid-19 cases, we want full co-operation from everyone. Now that government has procured more vaccines, we want everyone to be vaccinated starting with those in border towns and hotspot areas.”

“We will also move into market places like Mbare in Harare and eRenkini in Bulawayo. No vaccination, no table. Protect your customers by getting vaccinated,” said Chiwenga.

In a post cabinet briefing on Tuesday , they noted that vaccination will be more targeted in hotspot areas like Mbare musika and boders.

The country received its first batch of 200,000 doses of Sinopharm donated by the Chinese government in February.

With a population of about 14,6 million, government aims to vaccinate 10 million people.

However, initially citizens were skeptical about the vaccines , but the country has run out of vaccines.
