IFA fired Logarusic
Embattled Warriors coach Zdravko Logarusic has been fired,Techmagtv has learnt.
The Croat’s fate was sealed after the ZIFA board convened a meeting to discuss his future following a poor run of results.
ZIFA Communications manager Xolisani Gwesela confirmed the development in a press statement seen by this publication.
“The decision was arrived at upon consideration by the full Executive Committee of all the various relevant circumstances pertaining to the coach’s contract,” said Gwesela.
The Warriors succumbed to a defeat in Ethiopia in the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers and the board resolved to disband the entire technical team.
“The entire technical team has also been disbanded.
“The appointment of the interim technical team shall be announced in due course,”added Gwesela
There were growing calls for Logarusic’s sacking following a poor run of results.
The Croatian coach joined the Warriors as head coach in February 2020 and during his tenure, the national team won once in 14 matches and also finished bottom of the pile at the 2020 Chan and 2021 COSAFA Cup .
Zifa is expected to name an interim coach as the Warriors prepare for the back to back World Cup Qualifiers against Ghana.
