High Court Judge Justice Tawanda Chitapi has postponed the ruling on bail appeal by MDC Alliance duo Cecilia Chimbiri and Joana Mamombe for the second time, saying he is not feeling well.
Last week Chitapi took his time to hand down his ruling on reasons of having gone to get a second covid19 dose.
lawyer Alec Muchadehama representing the duo was advised that Judge Chitapi was not feeling well and had gone to seek medical attention.
Briefing the media following the postponement he said , “ The matter was postponed to tomorrow at 11:30am the reason being that we were advised the Judge was not feeling well today and has gone to seek medical attention so we then expect the matter to be finalized tomorrow,” he said.
The duo has been in prison since March on charges of failing to confine themselves at home during lockdown after they held a demonstration at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts
Meanwhile ,UK says it is still following closely on the case while every citizen has a right to freedom and fair treatment.
Meanwhile a trial date on other allegations has been set for 13 May 2021.
According to the state, they held a protest in Warren Park in Harare last year challenging the government to help the poor who had been locked in their houses without basic needs during the national lockdown.
