CHILDREN, if properly engaged, can play an instrumental part in a campaign of social awareness that can lead to better preservation of the environment they live in Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) Theological College Lecturer Pastor Takawina Nyamuparadza has said.
Speaking at a recent service where he enunciated efforts by his daughter Blessing Nyamuparadza who launched a fund when she was in grade two before turning it into a trust by the time she was in form 3,
Pastor Nyamuparadza said
“Nothing is impossible with God” The initiative by his daughter Blessing teaches children to look out for each other beyond an investment in a lesson which is priceless and that will benefit future generations.
Blessing Nyamuparadza is running her Trust which has impacted many lives in three different areas.
The initiative comes at a time when Zimbabwe’s schools are hampered by teachers demands for more pay to be in class.
She has always been leading from the front in promoting girl child and even boy child empowerment initiatives in communities welcoming as beneficial her initiatives.
”Her idea is to instil values of sustainable management in children so that they grow to be adults who are sensitive and custodians of one another.”She also makes it exemplary that when she saw peers of her age unable to fend for themselves or to get support from their families , she started selling small things to inspire others to follow suit till it generated into bigger projects.
By stimulating environmental interest and stewardship in children, Pastor Nyamuparadza said there was hope that they would share what they learn with their respective communities and families as evidenced in a 7 year old girls life through to her early teen years and she is not stopping.
Children by their very nature, if properly engaged can play an instrumental part in a campaign of social awareness that can lead to better preservation, so by teaching them to care for others they are investing in themselves a lesson which is priceless and that will benefit future generations.
The project she started to empower children to learn more on education and be educated in full and how they can help mitigate the crisis that each face of lack which is dangerous when they grow without knowledge, they will be also taught to inform other children about the equity and global citizenship and empower them to become climate heroes ambassador and their duty as ambassadors will be to teach other children to become heroes for each other as well.
Blessing showed that even a child can assume responsibility and can actively shape the future by organising empowerment parties for children, giving speeches, and encouraging others to participate.
In a written statement of their future endeavours YOUNG blessing says ”With previous successes which outweigh the
challenges, the Stable Children’s Foundation is
set to expand into more schools and communities.”
Zimbabwe, is among countries with poverty affecting schools yet we are supposed to maintain our over 90% literacy rate that was second to none in Africa at some stage.
Her father Man of the Cloth Nyamuparadza said ”the country was in danger of losing good hearts hence there was need to start steps reversing the damage that was caused by lack of empathy for others adding that children had an important role to play.”
Stable Children’s Foundation Trust initiative, he said, comes at the right time when there was need to teach children to take good care of their peers and even elders.
If this programme is cascaded down effectively, you will see tangible results every day and maintaining young vulnerable lives is a fantastic learning activity.
A lot of kids do not cope too well in a classroom environment and getting them outside you can have some amazing conversations, not just about science and biology, but also about art and maths. You can link anything into the need for that oness as we all come from God.
Blessing was driven by the need to involve children in mitigating toddler problems of not affording school by younger learners without hope and make the younger generation role models in the fight.
Nyamuparadza said ”The “Pass It On” philosophy has proved to be the
organization’s greatest tool for expansion to other
schools and communities as profits from previous
schools and youth clubs are used to start new
projects in another centres. The same concept
applies to the philosophy of “Dangaramambo”
(The Chief’s Annual Stable Cheer Fund)
If we catch the kids, especially the younger generation, they can actually become the role models of today and tomorrow’s fight.”
Blessing’s development dovetails with our day-to-day activities to be there for the next person as we are quite aware this initiative will go quite a long way in ensuring we become our brother’s or sisters’s keeper..
More importantly, the unique aspect about this project is that it is involving kids.Blessing has already caught her peers young running projects in schools promoting ubuntu as they say ”umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu”meaning a person is a person by other persons and it is just the beginning as her target should increase to make sure that she engages most of these schools.
Nyamuparadza made it port and clara that
”Stable Children’s Foundation Clubs in schools and
communities are run by children themselves with
assistance and guidance from technical staff in the
area of project management and administration
while imparting learners with entrepreneurship
, leadership, life skills, social responsibility,
discipline, community involvement linked with
academic excellency in line with the Ministry of
Education’s new curriculum.”
This surely must be an ongoing exercise ensuring that today’s generation never misses school because of lack.
We have quite a number of benefits that we derive from these initiatives. Let me also take this opportunity to harness that Rev Nyamuparadza instilled this passion in Blessing to spearhead nationwide. She is not going back so its aluta continua.EVERYONE OLDER MUST BE CHALLENGED THAT SUCH A HEART IS ALSO OUR RESPONSIBILITY
