Suspected Ritual murderers of 2 Grade 1 Pupils Arrested

“We have arrested two suspects who are assisting us with investigations and we are yet to confirm it was a ritual murder,” Police Spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said. Melissa and Daniel Benza, both aged seven from Sambaza Village in Nyanga, were killed on the 4km walk from their school.National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the motive behind the murder is not yet known, but that a manhunt has been started.“The ZRP is investigating two cases of murder which occurred at Sambaza Village, Chief Mutasa Nyanga on April 14, 2021 where two minors were found dead in a disused toilet pit. The victims left home for school on April 13, 2021 and never returned prompting a search.“Meanwhile, the bodies were retrieved from the pit and deep cuts were observed on the necks. All other body parts were intact but with blood stained uniforms. The bodies were ferried to Nyanga Hospital and we are waiting for post mortem,” Asst Comm Nyathi said.

Two ritual killer suspects have been arrested for the ugly murder of two 7-year old girls found dead in Sambaza Village Nyanga last Tuesday.Melissa and Delaney Benza’s lives were cut short and police believe they have brought the culprits to book ie Solomon Munyama aged 48 and 22-year-old Passmore Kumbirai Sambaza.

Melissa and Delaney Benza’s bodies were found in an unused toilet at an abandoned homestead in Kanganya village on Wednesday with identical deep cuts on the left side of their necks.
