Douglas Mwonzora Announced Winner of the MDC T Extra ordinary congress

0

Former MDC T Secretary General Dougals Mwonzora was on Monday early morning declared winner of the chaotic opposition party’s presidential extra ordinary elections.

The supreme court engineered process to elect the late founding leader of the Movement for Democratic Change Morgan Richard Tsvangirayi’s heir was marred by controversy after violence erupted during the exercise.

Two contestants, Thokozani Khupe and Morgen Komichi had to run for their dear life after some members believed to belong to Dougals Mwonzora – one of the presidential candidates turned violent against the duo.

The former acting president Khupe had tried to stop the process which was in motion but her gesture received a harsh respond.

Even though she declared the election null and void, members proceeded with the exercise which eventually saw Douglas Mwonzora gunning 883 votes against his close nemesis Khupe who polled 118.

Elias Mudzuri and Morgen Komichi who were the other contestants received a paltry 14 and 9 votes respectively.
