The drama around the late fitness trainer and socialite Mitchelle ‘Moana’ Amuli continues to hog the limelight after the deceased’s father disappeared with the burial order, TechMag.TV can exclusively reveal.
Moana and two foreign friends met their fate in the company of controversial businessman Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure, who also died and was buried Saturday.
Ginimbi’s Rolls-Royce Wraith II vehicle they were travelling in, collided head-on with a Honda Fit along Borrowdale Road, Harare, as he sped back to his Domboshava home from the nightspot, which he owned.
Since her tragic death almost a fortnight ago, minutes after celebrating her 26th birthday at Dreams Nightlife Club, Michelle “Mimi Moana” Amuli has dominated local conversations.
One of the topical issues was her parents’ sharp disagreement over the burial arrangements.
The charred remains of Mitchelle ‘Moana’ Amuli were set to be buried Thursday following the completion and release of her DNA test results.
However, the programme had to be put on hold after her father, a devoted Muslim, disappeared with the burial order citing that he wants his daughter to be buried the Muslim way, a move in sharp contrast to the deceased’s maternal relatives.
“Mitchell should be buried the Muslim’s way since she was raised through the Muslim faith, and also Michy’s biological mother abandoned her at 18 months and she was raised by myself and step-mother whom she was very close,” he said.
On the other hand, Moana’s biological mother insisted that since Moana was not in good books with Mr Amuli then her burial should have nothing to do with him.
“Why did he run away with the burial order it’s not like he liked Moana? By the time of her death Mr Amuli and Moana were not on speaking terms so I have the right to bury my daughter,” she said.
The socialite was burnt beyond recognition after a fatal car crash that claimed life of popular businessman Genius ‘Ginimbi’ Kadungure who was driving along with other friends who were also in the same car, Limumba Karim and Alicia Adams.
