The Public Service Commission (PSC) said government and its workers representative have agreed on the adjustments of the cost of living made on the first on November 2020 in the National Joint Negotiations Council (NJNC).
In a statement issued Monday, the PSC said the civil servants have also agreed on the payment modalities on annual 2020 bonuses which will be in two phases, the first in November and the second in December this year.
“The Public Service Commission is pleased to advise that government and government workers representations, meeting in the National Joint Negotiations Council, have agreed on a cost of living adjustment effective 1 November.
“They also agreed on payment modalities for the 2020 annual bonus which will be in two phases, the first in November 2020 and the second in December 2020.”
PSC further said that government and its workers will continue to engage so as to adjust the conditions of service in tandem with improvements in the economy and in revenue performance.
“Government and its workers will continue to engage in order to continuously improve conditions of service in tandem with improvements in the economy and in revenue performance.”
But however, in response to the NJNC meeting process and results, the Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe has rejected the same salary adjustments effective from the first of November this year.
“The Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe, ARTUZ, rejects both the process and the outcome of the NJNC meeting of 13 November 2020. The negotiating process was fatally flawed and the outcome failed to meet the legitimate expectations of our members.”
