MDC Alliance was yesterday blocked from meeting the special envoys that were deployed by Cyril Ramaphosa even after being formally requested to be available.

The deployed delegates Sydney Mufamadi and Baleka Mbete were scheduled to meet party leaders on Sunday but the meeting was cancelled.

They returned to South Africa without meeting the oppostion party although there was a delegation on standby.

The envoy was to assess the current situation in Zimbabwe pertaining to human rights violations, abductions, kidnappings, beatings and rape of citizens before and after the attempted 31 July movement.

“We can only assume that the failure to meet the MDC Allianve delegation was a result of demands made by the Zanu PF deleagtions,”read a statement released by Fadzayi Mahere on behalf of the MDC Alliance.

“We will continue to mount pressure on Mr Mnangagwa to engage in sincere dialogue until tje national crisis is resolved.”

Zimbabweans continue to mount pressure on social media for AU and SADC to heed their outcry that Zimbabwean lives matter.

Cyril Ramaphosa’s move to send the envoy had brought hope to Zimbabweans only for them to be disappointed as the meeting was one sided.

Thirty plus members of the MDC A are currently in hiding as they are being hunted down by the state and the envoy leaving without meeting their MDC A might mean their freedom will remain a jewel to them if ever they get it.

Hopewell Chin’ono and Jacob Ngarivhume also remain in custody and receive strict criminal treatment at Chikurubi Maximum Prison, all these are human rights abuses that citizens were hopin the envoys could assist with but alas!
