Council to increase refuse collection fleet

Harare City Council is set to increase its vehicle fleet in the Waste Management Division to ensure effective refuse collection.

Speaking during a meeting with the Provincial Development Coordinator Mr. Tafafdzwa Muguti at town house, Dr Chonzi said an integrated program to increase fleet availability is being implemented.

“We are putting in place a program that will increase fleet for Waste Management Division and will make sure that it is implemented,” he said.

He also said council has also put in place ways to deal with illegal dumping of waste.

“An illegal dumps clearance program is being implemented, even though the progress has ben slow due to a number of challenges,” said Dr Chonzi
