MDC T acting leader Thokozani Khupe and her team were controversially sworn in as members of the National Assembly on Wednesday.
The team which consists of more than twelve members were sworn in under the parliament’s proportional representation.
This followed the recalling of MDC Alliance MPs by Thokozani Khupe and team citing that there were no longer representing the ‘party’s interests’.
The ceremony which was administered by Clerk of Parliament, Mr Kennedy Chokuda has shockingly overruled court challenge over their contentious appointments.
Some of the members sworn in as Members of the National Assembly under the Proportional Representative seat include Memory Munochinzwa, January Sawuke, Lindani Moyo, Sipho Makone, Yvonne Musarurwa and Lwazi Sibanda.
UK based human rights activist Pedzisai Ruhanya commented on the new development on Twitter ,”…Which constituency does Khuphe represent, who voted for her after dismally losing the 2018 presidential election where she got 45K votes against Nelson Chamisa 2.6 million.”
