ZERA hike fuel prices

0

THE Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (Zera) has announced an increase in the Zim-dollar price of fuel with effect from today.

In a statement published by ZERA announcing the price hike it states that the pump price in local currency was now pegged at ZW$83,35 per litre for diesel from $62.77 while petrol has been reviewed upwards to ZW$93,15 a litre from 71.62.

“Please note that US$ prices of last month at $1.09 diesel and $ 1.28 for blend remain unchanged”.

“Operators may, however, sell at prices below the cap depending on their trading advantages,” said ZERA.

“Stakeholders are advised that petroleum price release by ZERA can be verified on the official ZERA website, Facebook or Twitter handle”.

There have been complains that ZERA is now prioritizing service stations selling in foreign currency while neglecting those selling in local currency which is very scarce.
