Govt can’t stand criticism: Sikhala

MDC Alliance Vice Chairperson Job Sikhala who was released on ZWL$50 000 bail says the current government under ZANU PF party can not stand criticism and the truth being served in their faces.

Sikhala stated that they are being convicted without committing any crime but for standing up against the government.

The legislator made the remarks while briefing Journalists on his way out of Chikurubi Maximum.

He was detained for almost five weeks facing charges of inciting public violence.

“There is no crime that we have committed its basically a regime that does not want to be criticised this government does not need the truth and citizens who are bold to serve them the truth right on their faces, “he said.

“We know that the basic liberties and civil rights of our people in this country have been taken away.”

“It is not crime to say that we need a government that is accountable for the people they are covering.”

Sikhala added that they are dire Conditions in Chikurubi Prison that Match to those in the country.

“Chikurubi maximum prison is a prison where all Zimbabweans are confide in the conditions that are there are also the conditions the people of Zimbabwe are suffering.”

“So i define Zimbabwe as a big maximum prison were the people are currently under incarceration and also imprisonment because of the dictatorship that is governing our country.”
