Minister of Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ziyambi Ziyambi has divorced his wife Florence Ziyambi of 27 years citing that their relationship has irretrievably broken down with no prospects of restoration.
Florence and Ziyambi got married on the 26th of December 1993 in Harare under the Marriages Act (Chapter 5:11) and on paper the marriage is still legit.The two have two children.
The Justice Minister however revealed that although he was married to Florence Ziyambi nee Mhizha,their marriage was nothing but “a shell”.
He also revealed that they have been seperated for six years.Conjugal rights since their break up in 2014 have been deprived of the Minister and therefore he can only enjoy them by formalising their seperation.
Ziyambi further requests that upon divorce each party retains the movable property in their possession,praying for a divorce and an order authorising distribution of property between them.
The couple besides having movable property also acquired stand number 2576 Bluffhill,Westgate,Harare registered in Florence’s name and 6421 Westlea Harare registered in Ziyambi’s name.
Part of the summons stated,”The marriage between parties has irretrievably broken down to such an extent that there are no prospects of restoration of a normal marriage relationship in that the parties have not lived together as husband and wife since sometime in 2014,thus the marriage is just a shell as they have not shared conjugal rights since then,”
” The parties have developed diverging interests and have become incompatible.The parties have lost all love and affection for each other.”
Ziyambi will also continue catering for their young daughter until she grduates from school and is self sustaining. Ziyambi has divorced his wife,who he had been married to legally for 27years.
