Hopewell Chin’ono ill at Chikurubi

Investigative Journalist Hopewell Chi’nono is reportedly ill at Chikurubi Maximum Prison.

MDC Alliance vice Chair Job Sikhala is reported to have pleaded for Hopewell’s urgent medical attention to his Lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa .

Chi’nono’s Lawyer Doug Colart confirmed his illness in a Twitter post.

“ Have just visited Hopewell Chin’ono at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison and can confirm that he is unwell. We have alerted his private doctor who will be attending to him immediately and we will act accordingly based on the medical assessment and advice.”

Chin’ono has been in custody for more than a month now following his arrest on July 20 on allegations of inciting public violence.

He has since been denied bail three times.
