Marondera Municipality Imposes Annual Bicycle Licence Fee

In a shocking public notice, the Municipality of Marondera has announced a new requirement for all bicycle owners and cyclists within its jurisdiction, an annual bicycle license fee of $5.

The notice, issued today, reminds residents that operating an unlicensed bicycle is an offense punishable by fines in accordance with approved budget rates.

 

“Today the municipality of Marondera would like to inform all bicycle owners and cyclists that they are required to pay an annual bicycle licence fee of $5 per year. Cyclists and bycicle owners are hereby reminded that is is an offense to cycle an unlicensed bicycle within the municipal jurisdiction of any local authority.” Reads the statement.

In the statement, municipality has encouraged all bicycle owners to obtain their license to avoid any inconvenience or potential fines.

“Cyclists who operate their bicycle without being licenced risk being fined in line with approved budget rates. Council looks forward to your continued cooperation.” Reads the statement.
