The Zimbabwe Children Of Liberation War Veterans Association (ZCLWVA) are calling for Zimbabwe and Zimbabwean youths to join hands as a nation and going back to the ‘basics of rebuilding Zimbabwe’ as they blame ‘imperialists’ for its current state.
“We are being forced to ignore the true causes of our nation’s challenges, the sanctions that have ravaged our economy, impoverished our currency and weakened our institutions”,
said Phineas Makombe , the ZCLWVA chairperson.

“We should take ownership of our communities by addressing issues such as littering, potholes and poor public service”, he added.
Despite the recent corruption scandal that shock the city of Harare council and several others, the children of war veterans group firmly stated that the real causes of the predicaments being faced by Zimbabwe are not corruption related but rather as a result of what they called the “lackeys within their ranks” being used by the imperialists to discredit his excellency’s achievements.
As a way of addressing the current situation, ZCLWVA is calling for a week of action across all provinces from the youth of Zimbabwe and youths from other political parties to “make the community cleaner, safer and more resilient”.
The chairperson to ZCLWVA urged people to take responsibility and play their part in building Zimbabwe rather than putting the entire blame on the country’s leaders.
“Let us cease the endless cycle of blaming and undermining our president and instead focus on positive contributions that will help us reach an upper-middle-income by 2030”, said Mr Makombe.
