Blessed Mhlanga Bail ruling postponed to February 27

Alpha Media Holdings (AMH) journalist Blessed Mhlanga bail ruling has been postponed by Harare Regional Magistrate Farai Gwatima .

Mhlanga, arrested on February 25, faces two counts of violating Section 136 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act.

This section prohibits transmitting data messages that incite violence or damage to property.

The state opposed bail, citing Mhlanga as a flight risk who may interfere with witnesses and commit similar offenses.

In response, human rights lawyer Christopher Mhike argued that the state failed to provide evidence supporting their claims against Mhlanga’s bail

Mhlanga allegedly recorded and uploaded a video of Blessed Runesu Geza to YouTube via (Hstvzimlive.co.zw) on January 27, 2025.

The video purportedly aimed to incite public violence.
