A 42 year old man, Gary Bell, appeared before the Bulawayo Regional Court for dealing in dangerous drugs after he was found in possession of cocaine and ecstasy during a police operation at Smoke House Bar in Burnside. His case has been remanded to March 20, 2025, for a bail ruling.
Bell was arrested on February 14, 2025, following a surveillance operation by detectives from the CID Drugs and Narcotics unit in Bulawayo. Acting on intelligence, police intercepted him upon arrival at the bar in a silver Toyota double cab (AFX 2911) and conducted a search.
During the search, officers recovered six sachets of cocaine weighing approximately 6 grams, with an estimated street value of USD 480, along with five ecstasy tablets valued at USD 60. Authorities also seized digital weighing scales and razor blades containing cocaine residue. A follow-up search at Bell’s residence led to the discovery of additional cocaine hidden inside a jewelry box in his wardrobe.
