Heavy Rainfall and Thunderstorms To Continue Across Zim

The Meteorological Services Department has warned of continued thunderstorms and heavy rainfall across Zimbabwe, with areas along the main watershed expected to be severely affected.

Provinces including Matabeleland North, the Midlands, Mashonaland Central, Mashonaland East, and Manicaland will experience a mix of weather conditions, with partly cloudy and mild mornings giving way to mostly cloudy and warm afternoons, accompanied by scattered thunderstorms.

Other provinces will experience partly cloudy and mild conditions in the morning, becoming warm in the afternoon, with isolated thundershowers expected.

Yesterday, several provinces, including Mashonaland, Harare Metropolitan, Midlands, and northern parts of Manicaland, experienced partly cloudy and mild conditions, with isolated light rain in the morning. By afternoon, these areas became mostly cloudy and warm, with scattered thunderstorms and heavy rain predicted in some places.

Significant rainfall amounts were recorded in various locations, including Agritex Nyamweda (70mm), Lusulu Tsetse Control (55mm), and Gwanda (47mm).

The Meteorological Services Department has advised residents to remain vigilant and prepared for possible heavy rain and thunderstorms, emphasizing the importance of staying informed during this period of unsettled weather.

Residents are urged to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety and the safety of their loved ones.
