Farmers should adopt climate-smart agriculture innovations, a skill tailored to empower them to combat erratic weather patterns and resource constraints, said Samuel Edwin Zimunga Chief Director and Engineer in the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries, and Rural Resettlement.
Addressing residents in Domboshava farm a ground breaking model training demonstration centre under the Department of Engineering and Farm Infrastructure Development Zimunga emphasised that this innovative hub provide farmers with cutting edge skills to boost productivity, combat climate change and fortify national food security
Zimunga noted that through cutting-edge research and practical demonstrations, Domboshava Farm is effectively building resilience at the grassroots level.
“Domboshava Farm’s impact is remarkable, particularly with its herd of Hard Mashona, a breed celebrated for its endurance and productivity in Zimbabwe’s toughest climates.”
The community has been empowered through training in animal husbandry and smart agricultural techniques, cultivating a new generation of resilient farmers equipped to succeed in a rapidly changing world.
