The ruling ZANU PF party has condemned the actions and remarks of Central Committee member Runesu Geza, labeling them as “outlandish, treasonable, and egregious.” The party accused Geza of violating the principles of party discipline and attempting to undermine the credentials of recognized War Veteran entities aligned with ZANU PF in a statement released on February 5, 2025,

According to the statement signed by Cde. Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa, Secretary for Information and Publicity, Geza’s actions contravene the tenets of the party’s ideology and unity. “The relevant party organs of organization and discipline are currently seized with this contravention, as it is holistically and expeditiously handled and dispensed with,” the statement read.

The Department of Information reassured party members and supporters of its unwavering commitment to President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the resolutions adopted at the October 2024 Bulawayo Conference. The department emphasized its adherence to the 2013 Constitution of Zimbabwe and underscored the party’s resolve to maintain discipline within its ranks.

This development highlights ZANU PF’s ongoing efforts to uphold its internal regulations and preserve the unity and strength of the party. The swift response to the alleged misconduct demonstrates the party’s zero-tolerance stance on behaviors perceived as undermining its leadership or principles.

As ZANU PF gears up to advance its Vision 2030 agenda of achieving an upper-middle-income economy, party unity remains a cornerstone of its strategy. The leadership has called for continued loyalty and dedication from all members to ensure the full realization of this ambitious goal.
