The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC), the body mandated with conducting the country’s elections is conducting a post mortem of last years disputed controversial Aug 2023 presidential elections, in Nyanga Zimbabwe.
In essence, ZEC and its stakeholders are holding a long overdue post-election review conference, whose participants include political parties that took part in the 2023 general elections, Government officials, the United Nations Development Programme, diplomats, faith-based organisations, law enforcement agencies, the Deaf Zimbabwe Trust, African Christian Council International, Zimbabwe Youth Council, Zimbabwe Gender Commission, Zimbabwe Media Commission, Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission, Women in Politics Support Unit, civil society organisations, legal experts and the media.
The mentioned Stakeholders are meeting at Troutbeck Resort in Nyanga for a two-day multi-stakeholder post election review conference for the 2023 harmonised elections.
ZEC organised the conference with the objective of “identifying what worked and what didn’t work well in order for the electoral management body to improve on the conduct of future elections”.
