Zimbabwean clergyman, politician and the president of the United African National Council (UANC) Gwinyai Muzorewa remarked SADC Summit as an important tradition worth respecting, preserving and passing on to our posterity.
Addressing journalists at press conference held today in Harare Muzorewa said, “Opposition leaders will not allow SADC to be reduced to a mere organization that promotes individual political innuendos at the expense of tangible national issues like economic development, poverty eradication, adequate housing and technological innovations.
We will not allow members of our nation to be used as pawns of the Western or Eastern powers , these super powers often come to Africa to extract minerals resources under the guise of humanitarian services”.
He added that, ” The opposition parties who are seriously fighting for the practice of democratic principles , national unity , peace and security in Zimbabwe will demonstrate maturity before and after the SADC Summit”.
