Minister Owen Ncube Urges Students To Embrace Digital Revolution

Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon Owen Mudha Ncube recently received and handed a significant handover of 20 laptops, a projector, printer and whiteboard.

This donation, made possible by President Cde Dr. ED Mnangagwa , marks a crucial step towards bridging the digital divide and empowering the next generation.

Minister Ncube emphasized the significance of the BCS Zimbabwe Fibre Optic Network project, launched by President Mnangagwa in Somabhula, which has become the pinnacle of digital revolution in Zimbabwe. He highlighted the establishment of 16 Community Information Centres across the Midlands Province, enabling vital services like E-Health, E-Banking, and E-Passport.

He also urged students to fully utilize the donated laptops and take their studies seriously, warning against the dangers of drug and substance abuse. He emphasized that drug abuse leads to bullying, suicide, drop-outs, and teenage pregnancies in schools, and encouraged students to say NO to drugs.

The Minister praised President Mnangagwa for introducing Education 5.0 and the competence-based curriculum, transforming the education system to produce graduates fit for industry and job creation.

He also applauded the President’s approval of Starlink, a satellite-based internet provider, ensuring fast, reliable, and affordable connectivity for all.

In his words, “The fourth industrial revolution of cyber and physical systems accelerates knowledge and resource-driven industrialization by producing graduates fit for industry and job creation.” Minister Ncube’s message emphasizes the importance of embracing the digital revolution to build a brighter future for generations to come.
