Caun Reed Govender (25) from Durban South Africa was yesterday convicted at Harare Magistrate Court for causing disruptions that forced President Mnangagwa to abandon a trip.
He was slapped with a US$300 fine.
The suspect was arrested at Robert Mugabe International Airport on 1 March 2024 when the live rounds of ammunition were discovered in his luggage by the baggage scanner.
The statement said, “The police searched his baggage and found five live rounds of ammunition. The accused had intended to board an Airlink flight to South Africa”.
The court has ordered the accused person to pay a fine of USD300. The warning email was sent by someone who indicated a bomb threat on Victoria Falls prompting security measures at the airport
