The Ministry of Health and Child Care has a four-day Polio vaccination across the country from February 20 to 23. The program will target children under the age of 10.
The vaccination teams are on a mission to protect our little ones. The free, safe polio vaccine will protect children from a life-threatening threat. Health officials shall administer the oral vaccination at schools, clinics, business centers, health centers, and at household levels.
The program will cater to everyone, especially in rural areas and remote communities. The ministry is working with the community leaders so that they will encourage their community to have their children vaccinated.
The disease is easily spread by contaminated water, food, or contact with an infected person, during the rainy season the chances are high and the only measure to prevent is to get vaccinated. The key is to prevent your children especially those under the age of ten.
Polio has no cure, but it can be prevented through vaccination. Get your child vaccinated at the nearest vaccination point and nearest health facility.
