The Zimbabwe School Examination Council (ZIMSEC) has confirmed the opening of the June and November examination registration process.
The board advised parents and guardians to their nearest registration centres to come and register.
In a statement, ZIMSEC said, “Candidates who wish to sit for the examination will pay the currency of their choice”.
“For payment in ZWL, the prevailing interbank USD to ZWL exchange rate as of the 13th to 20th of March, for the June session, and the 19th to the 26th of March 2024 will be confirmed by ZIMSEC to all examination centers,” reads part of the statement.
The ordinary level examination fee is pegged at USD24 per subject, with the government paying a subsidy of USD13 and candidates from public schools, local authorities, and not-for-profit mission schools paying the difference of USD11.
Private schools, colleges, and private candidates will pay the whole amount without government subsidy.
The Advanced level candidates at public schools local authorities and not-for-profit missions fork out USD22, with the government chipping in with the difference of USD26, whereas private schools, colleges, and private missions pay the full amount of USD48.
The examination board further informed stakeholders that candidates who wish to sit for the examination should have fulfilled the CALA requirements.
