Higher Education Examination Council (Hexco) has issued a directive to polytechnic colleges notifying them that Ordinary Level Mathematics will no longer be required for 30 courses.
Hexco chairperson, Dr Desire Sibanda enforced this following his boss Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education Amon Murwira’s decision to cancel Mathematics and English as prerequisites for students to enter tertiary education.
Murwira’s directive has seen the following 30 courses no longer needing maths for entry level according to the Hexco chairperson:
