Harare giants and former Cup Kings, CAPS United has unveiled eight new signing after a massive shopping spree ahead of the new Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.
The latest development is meant to champion the Green Machine to another level of competition in the upcoming soccer season having had a gloomy season last year winning only 11 league matches and finishing eighth on the final log standing, 20 points behind the champions Ngezi Platinum.
The Green Machine has been in the market, shopping eight players to referesh their 2024 soccer season squad.
Veteran coach Lloyd Chitembwe has gone for experience in 35-year-old former Highlanders and Azam utility player Bruce Kangwa. He also incorporated 33-year-old former Dynamos and Manica Diamonds midfielder Ralph Kawondera alongside 38-year-old striker Lot Chiunga who had an impressive second half of the season with relegated Black Rhinos.
The green machine also signed in former Nichrut goalkeeper Tafadzwa Jabangwe, 28-year-old, defensive midfielder Wayne Makuva, who was on loan at Triangle from Ngezi Platinum Stars and Munyaradzi Chirwa who turned out for Sheasham last year.
It has also opted for younger talent by signing 20-year-old forward Junior Bunjira, son to club legend Alois Bunjira, as well as another youngster Simbarashe Gunda.
CAPS United on the other hand, has lost one of their best players Joseph Thulani, who is now with Chicken Inn, while they have released utility players Kelvin Madzongwe and Ben Musaka, as well as midfielders Joel Ngodzo and Adrian Silla together with goalkeeper Bhekimpilo Ncube.
