CCC Disengagement Ends, Party Urges Members To Resume Duty

0

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) through their National vice Spokesperson Ostallos Siziba have said they will take this opportunity to monitor whether the ruling party ZANU PF is ever going to address some of their key demands after the expiry of the 14-day disengagement period.

On the 11 of October 2023, the movement called upon all its members of parliament and council to disengage from all council business after the infamous recalls of some of its members by self-styled Sengezo Tshabangu who claims to be the movement’s interim secretary general. However, the movement has since denied any links with Tshabangu.

In a statement, Siziba highlighted that the movement has since approached the courts over the recalls, engaged SADC, and engaged Regional and International Parliamentary forums among other measures.

The recall matter will be heard at the High Court on an urgent basis on November 2, 2023.

“Now that the temporary 14-day disengagement period has ended, we will continue to monitor progress on our key demands, review our action plans as appropriate, and consult further with key stakeholders. We urge all our deployees to actively address and attend to the issues faced by our citizens,” wrote Siziba.
