Ngezi Platinum Stars chief executive officer Yvonne Mapika Manwa has been appointed the new Zifa CEO with effect from November 1, 2023.
Manwa has been mandated to lead the secretariat and is expected to breathe a new lease of life into the country’s supreme football governing body which has been in the intensive care unit for years now.
The appointment was made known by the Zifa Normalisation Committee Chairperson Lincoln Mutasa.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mrs Manwa to our team, and we believe her experience and leadership will be invaluable as we continue on the mission to transform Zimbabwean football,” Mutasa said.
He said Manwa has years of experience in senior leadership and football administration positions, having been the CEO of the elite football club, Ngezi Platinum Stars.
The football mother body has been without a substantive CEO since the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) suspended Joseph Mamutse in 2021.
