Zimbabwe’s State-owned Parastatal and Mobile Network Operator (MNO) NetOne is helping create a more Inclusive and accepting society for all.

The country’s largest State Owned MNO in partnership with Hope For The Future Foundation on the 27th of May 2023 recognized the existence of people living with Albinism in Chipinge and surrounding areas for the distribution of sunscreen lotions, female sanitary pads and lip balms.

The NetOne Group Chief Executive Officer GCEO Engineer R. Mushanawani emphasized that “NetOne is committed to support people with albinism, as a way to make a real difference in the lives of these individuals and their families”.

The GCEO revealed it is a way to help to create a more inclusive and accepting society for all.Hence NetOne, has with effect from the 27th of May issued sunscreen lotions, female sanitary pads and lip balms amongst other giveaways as a way of provision for the people living with albinism around Chipinge and Manicaland areas.

NetOne as a business has taken an initiative to upkeep people with albinism as a way to give back to the communities in which it operates.The Parastatal continues to provide information and resources to help people with albinism to uplift their self-confidence.

People living with albinism are often discriminated against and stigmatized because of their condition, hence NetOne through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Health & Care Pillar is embarking a nation-wide campaign to alleviate people with albinism by raising awareness of the condition and combat discrimination.

NetOne has taken it upon its shoulders to Providing educational materials about albinism to employees and the public to dispel myths and stereotypes about the condition.

The strategic partnership with Hope For The Future Foundation has been NetOne’s way to provide access to education, healthcare, and other essential services whilst advocating for the rights of people with albinism. The partnership is there to ensure that people living with Albinism are treated fairly and have equal access to opportunities.
