Zimbabwe has been invited to participate at the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization(CTO) Conference the Ministerial Alliance for Digital Nations currently being held in London.
Running under the theme ‘Action for Impact’ the Ministerial Alliance for Digital Nations started on 21 February and is set to end today.
This is the first invitation Zimbabwe has received since its Commonwealth exit in 2003.
Attending the conference is ICT, Postal and Courier Service Minister Dr Jenfan Muswere, Zimbabwean Ambassador to the UK Christian Katsande, and Netone CEO Raphael Mushanawani.
Speaking on the purpose of the conference, Minister Muswere said “The platform is meant to facilitate collaboration between Governments and the ICT industry in addressing ICT issues for economic development,”
The Ministerial Alliance has also been looking at issues to do with affordable universal broadband access as essential for digital transformation. Spectrum management, emerging technologies and their implications for policy, legislation and regulation have been some of the topics of interest at the conference.
