Prominent human rights activist Dominic Nyakudya has decried the continued persecution of the country”s main opposition party, the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) led by Advocate Nelson Chamisa by the government using state instiutions..

Nyakudya’s sentiments comes after the Zimbabwe Republic Police declined to sanction a CCC rally which was to be held in Mutare while other political parties were granted permission to hold rallies.

We are few months away from harmonized elections yet CCC rallies are being banned. Zanu PF must come clear that we are a banned organization than to use the police to suppress us. Regardless of these persecutions we shall triumph. Dictatorship is falling! #RegisterToVoteZW,”he said.

The government has been using state instituions to frustrate and annihilate the opposition as the country heads for the much anticipated  general elections later this year.

The Democratic Union of Zimbabwe led by Robert Chapman as well as the United Zimbabwe Alliance led by Elizabeth Valerio held rallies in Masvingo and Bulawayo at a time when the police continue to ban CCC rallies.

The CCC is leaving no stone untruned in its bid to dislodge ZANU P from power despitee the persecution by the police by embarking on a mass voter mobilisation in the rural areas to turn the tide..

The party sent shockwaves when it won the majority of parliamentary and local government seat in last year’s by-elections ,demonstrating its pedigree to win the forthcoming general elections.

Meanwhile the CCC leader Nelson Chamisa has told his supporters to stand firm as the new Zimbabwe was on the horizon.

”THERE IS A SURPRISE COMING..Nobody can ever ban or stop an idea or a moment whose time has come. Zimbabwe shall be free, just, peaceful and prosperous! #Fakapressure #Fakaprayer,”he said.
