The founder and senior pastor of Celebration Ministries International Tom Deuschle has described the #Pastors4ED grouping as an abomination adding that the Church as an institution must never be aligned to any political party.

Speaking during a live church sermon at Celebration Centre,Pastor Tom said that although the Bible dictates that people should obey and respect the government  of the day, he was not aligned to any political party and distanced himself from the grouping arguing that that it was ridiculous to support the regime thats doing  things that contradicts his religious beliefs.

“Politics,we are seeing today, pastors being manipulated by the state to support political ideologies that often speak and do things contrary to the word of God.

This Pastors4ED is an abomination,im gonna say it loud,it’s ridiculous. You cannot be a Pastor4ED,you can only be  a pastor for our great shepherd Jesus Christ.I’m not a pastor and will never be a pastor for a political party,” he said.

The sentiments by the popular cleric comes at a time that pastors have formed a political outfit  dubbed #Pastor4ED to drum up support for the ruling ZANU PF Presidential candidate Emmerson Mnangagwa  as  Zimbabwe  gears up for the decisive  general elections later this year.

The ZANU PF leader has turned to churches in a bid to secure reelection in this year’s elections with several pastors coming out  to pledge their support for ZANU PF in the elections.

Yesteryear musician Clive Malunga also warned the government not to abuse the church for political expediency adding that the current regime should draw lessons from the late former president Robert Mugabe’s downfall.

“The late former President of Zimbabwe Comrade Robert Mugabe, his wife and many of his close allies suffered much humiliation when he was removed from office. His political downfall was not brought about by Lacoste or any schemers but he was chastised by God for abusing the church,”he said
