Zimbabwe, represented by Digital Marketing and Innovation Trust TofaraOnline has won the EQUALS in Technology Award held in Geneva yesterday, Technomag reports.
EQUALS Global Partnership presents awards to initiatives, projects, institutions and organisations around the world that have displayed extraordinary commitment to reducing the digital gender divide.
TofaraOnline CEO and Founder Tofara Chokera said her organization was among more than 155 nominations received by The International Telecommunication Union under the EQUALS in Tech Awards –Leadership in SME Category.
“Among more than 155 nominations received by The International Telecommunication Union – ITU – Equals Hub, we have been selected as the winner for the 9th edition of the EQUALS in Tech Awards – Leadership in SME Category,”

TofaraOnline is an initiative to help women to adopt digital marketing and emerging technologies for international trade, the organization aims to empower women, helping them to adopt emerging technologies for their businesses.
EQUALS is an organization created by the International Telecommunication Union and four founding partners – GSMA, the International Trade Centre, the United Nations University and UN Women dedicated to promoting gender balance in the technology sector by championing equality of access, skills development and career opportunities for women and men alike.
