Zimbabwe mobile operators revenue increase by 103%

The Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (Potraz) data showed that  mobile telecoms operators’ revenues increased by 103% to ZW$61.39 billion during the third quarter of 2022.

The mobile operators revenue grew by ZW$31.29 billion up from ZW$30.1 recorded in the last quarter.

Performance was also boosted by a rise in active mobile telephone subscriptions, which increased by 4 % to 14.562.242 million during the review period, compared to 14,006.034 million during the second quarter of 2022.

This translated to a 3.6 % rise in mobile phone penetration rate to 95.9 % compared to 92.3% during the previous quarter.

Meanwhile operating costs rose by 97.1% to record ZWL$48.6 billion up from ZWL$24.7 recorded in the last quarter
