5 Maranatha Students To Represent Zim At A Regional Innovation Competition

Five Maranatha High School Students will represent Zimbabwe at a Regional Innovation Competition that is going to be held in Lagos, Nigeria.

The 2022 JA Africa COY Competition will be held on the 7th to 9th December 2022 and the competition will be running under the theme dubbed “Fuelling Changemakers”.

JA Africa will host its first in-person Company of the Year competition, after hosting two successful virtual competitions due to the COVID pandemic.

Zimbabwean students will compete against other students from Eight African Countries which are Eswatini, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.

Amongst the highest prizes to be won, students are competing to represent the African region at the Ralph dee la Vega Global Entrepreneurship Competition.

The Ralph de la Vega Global Entrepreneurship Competition will bring together COY winners from the six regions at JA Worldwide to compete for awards, $15,000, educational opportunities and other prizes.

JA Africa on it social media platform highlighted that the competitors are expected to come up with solutions to African challenges.

“We challenged these young changemakers to develop solutions to Africa’s greatest challenges, and we can’t wait to see what they come up with. Cheer on your favorite team in the comments!” said JA Africa.

JA Africa CEO Simi Nwogugu also highlighted that the competition will award African students an opportunity to come up with solutions to African challenges that will bring a positive change within the communities.

“Given the increasingly complex set of global challenges facing young people around the world from unemployment to climate change and food shortage, we focus on equipping our students to be solution providers who bring about positive change within their communities while developing businesses that generate wealth,” said JA Africa’s CEO.
