The Zimbabwe Gender Commission says that it has received submissions from women who have been allegedly sexually exploited by Walter Magaya the founder and leader of the Prophetic,Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries church.
Speaking during a press briefing, the chairperson of the Zimbabwe Gender Commission Commissioner Margaret Mukahanana said that more and more people had come forward to make submissions and the commission would disclose the number as soon as they have received more responses.
“There have been some complainants that have come through but we can not share at the moment how many they are.
We have had some responses in terms of some people coming forward and we are still waiting for more responses.
We will inform you as we get more responses from the complainants,”she said.
The charismatic man of cloth is currently under investigation on charges relating to sexual abuse.
Magaya had stalled the probe by launching a legal challenge against the legality of the commission’s investigations.
However the challenge was thrown out paving the way for the commencement of the probe.
