ZETDC Rolls Out The New Smart Vending System

Zesa (Zimbabwe Electricity Supply AUTHORITY) HOLDINGS’ distribution arm, THE Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission Distribution Company (ZETDC), has begun rolling out the new smart vending system.

Zesa in a press release advert indicated they are embracing new technologies such as the
smart grid system to ensure energy efficiency and reduce power losses.

In the advert seen by TechnoMag, ZETDC are adamant they are now ”improved, smart and more efficient.”

The ZETDC state in the advert,

”With improved capacity comes better perfomance.Introducing the new powerplus prepaid electricity token purchase system.”

‘Flexibility for consumers to purchase in either USD or ZWL$.

”NB:With effect from 30 November 2022, all new customers will be registered on the new platform, whilst transfer of all existing customers will be completed in time.

ZETDC ARE CONFIDENT THAT HERE NOW COMES FOR zimbabwe, a gamechanger, a new smart vending system with client convenience through ICT.

ZETDC already,  recently managed a smart grid which is an intelligent electricity network system which allows real time
communication between the utility and consumers.Consumers have control of consumption and can remotely monitor usage and switch off
unnecessary appliances while the power utility will increase revenue collection through
smart technologies.

The electricity power company  plans to roll out smart meters and prepaid meters to all postpaid customers by 2023.
