All roads will lead to Ngoni Stadium for the Norton Anti-Drug Abuse Awareness Campaign to be held on Saturday the 12th of November 2022.
The Norton Anti-Drug Abuse Awareness campaign will be hosted by the Norton Legislator Temba Mliswa who is also the founder of Youth Advocacy for Reforms and Democracy (YARD) and Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Paul Mavima will be the guest of honour.
The campaign will be run under the theme dubbed “United Against Drug Abuse Violence and Crime.
Mliswa on his social media platform said, the spiral effects of drug abuse have created problems for this country.
“As Norton we shall be hosting a drug abuse awareness campaign which shall culminate in a musical show. The two things at the centre of destroying this country are drugs and corruption. Their spiral of effects has created other dangers and problems for this country,” he said.
The programme will kick off at around 8AM till 6PM and admission is free.
Anti-Drug Abuse Campaign promises fireworks with Zimdancehall Chanter Seh Calaz set to perform and he will share the stage with other Zimdancehall artists Celsius, Shumbakadzi, Nyanduri LMC and Tendai among other various local artists.
The programme came after the World Drug Day commemorations in June, The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, or World Drug Day, is marked on 26 June every year to strengthen action and cooperation in achieving a world free of drug abuse.
Each year, individuals, communities, and various organizations all over the world, from civil society to the private sector, join in to observe World Drug Day to help raise awareness of the major problem that illicit drugs pose to society.
