Econet Wireless Zimbabwe has announced its plan to review Zimbabwean Dollar (ZWL) and United States Dollars (US$) Voice, Data and SMS tariffs effective 01 November.
Through a text message, Sunday Econet announced its plan to review its tariffs before they announced it on their social media Twitter page on Monday.
“Please take note of the following changes effective Tuesday 1 November. We will review our ZWL Tariffs for Voice Calls, Data and SMS. The ZWL tariff a per regulatory approval will be as follows: Voice $41.7779 per minute, Data $6.6093 per Mega Byte and $8.5908 per SMS.
“We will review USD Tariffs for Voice, Data and SMS. The USD tariffs as per regulatory approval will be as follows: Voice $0.0652 per minute, Data $ 0.0103 per MB and SMS $0.0134 per SMS.
“All Prices are inclusive of tax,” said Econet.
Previously ZWL Voice were pegged at $25.9514 per minute, Data $4.10 per MB and SMS $5.33 per SMS.
Whilst US$ voice were $0.009 per sec, SMS $ 0.0108 per message and Data $0.0083 per MB.
The telecommunications sector was granted a phased tariff adjustment by the telecoms regulator of 61% in July 2022, and a further 61% with effect from 1 September 2022, and a further 61% with effect from 1 November 2022.
Econet’s competitors Telecel and Netone are likely to review its data, SMS and voice bundle soon.
