Mwonzora Recalls 6 Binga councillors

The Movement for Democratic Change – Tsvangirai (MDC-T) leader Douglas Mwonzora has recalled six Binga Rural District Councilors.

The six are Wilson Siampolomba, Kariangwe Ward; Mathias Mudenda, Simatelele Ward; Kingson Mpofu; Kalungwizi Ward; Joseph Mweembe, Sikalenge Ward; Chrispen Munkuli, Lubimbi Ward and John Sikabotu representing Siachilaba ward.

This comes after they are said to have been consistently working and ever pushing the agenda of the CCC. and even campaigned for a CCC candidate.

“The councillors were found to have been all along working with and for CCC. They heavily campaigned for the same party’s candidates ahead and during the 2018 elections.

At council chambers they were also pushing an agenda foreign to MDC-T hence their recall,” said MDC-T national spokesperson Mr Witness Dube.

Binga has 21 wards largely controlled by the opposition.

However in an exclusive interview with this reporter Member of Parliament for Binga North Prince Dubeko Sibanda dismissed the allegations labelled against the six councilors by the MDC-T that they are agents of CCC arguing that the councilors had done nothing wrong to deserve the recall.

“The world needs to know that these councilors did nothing wrong that would get them to be recalled but what simply happened is that Mwonzora is simply playing to the tune of Zanu Pf internal politics,” he said.

He added that, this comes after the Chief Executive Officer for the Binga Rural District lost dismally to another faction of Zanupf during the ZANU PF Central Committee Elections that were held last week hence there was fear that within the councilors, they were other councilors who were known to be competent enough to be used to fire him or expose his acts of misconducts.

” In order to stifle that , the CEO had to pay Mwonzora to fire those six councilors because they were known to stand their ground and they were not friendly to him and that is the only reason why these six councilors were fired to please the ZANUPF Internal agenda because Mwonzora is now an appendage of Zanupf,”

Early this year the country completed its by-election to replace 117 local authority and 28 National Assembly se3ats that fell vacant due to various reasons , chief being the recall of members of the fragmented opposition
