This development has been announced by Commissioner-General of Police, Stephen Mutamba, at the official closing ceremony of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Crack Teams Intermediate Investigations Course held at the Shamva Battle Camp.

Commissioner-General Mutamba highlighted that the Zimbabwe Republic Police has now embraced the use of technology in attending to and responding to scenes of crime and investigations.

This technological advancement aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the specialized units tasked with confronting high-profile criminal syndicates.

The 63 members of the CID Crack Teams who completed the intensive 45-day skill development course are now equipped with advanced techniques in tracking, conducting responses, and undertaking investigations into serious crimes.

These crimes include armed robbery, murder, theft of motor vehicles, cybercrime, and other high-profile cases that demand specialized expertise.

Commissioner-General Mutamba emphasized the commitment of the police force to improving protocols, tactical preparedness, and the overall capability of the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s specialized units.

The integration of technology is a key component of this drive to create a more formidable and responsive police force capable of tackling the evolving landscape of crime in the country.
