The Chitungwiza Municipality Town Clerk, J. Nemuseso, has issued a public notice, stating that the council will proceed with a public auction of vehicles that have been held for an extended period.

According to the notice, the municipality is advising owners of the impounded vehicles to claim them within 30 days to avoid the public auction.

The notice explicitly states that this action is in accordance with Section 6 (i) of the Chitungwiza (Road Traffic and Other Offenses) By-Laws.

This legislation grants the municipality the authority to dispose of vehicles that have been impounded and remain unclaimed for a specified period.

The Chitungwiza Municipality aims to free up space and potentially recover some of the costs associated with the impoundment and storage.

Owners of the listed vehicles are urged to contact the Chitungwiza Municipality to initiate the process of claiming their vehicles.

Failure to do so within the stipulated 30-day period will result in the vehicles being sold via public auction.
