The Municipality of Chitungwiza has today announced the commencement of a data collection exercise targeting residents in the Nyatsime and Njanja areas.
According to a public notice issued by Acting Town Clerk J. Namuseso, the initiative aims to establish an accurate database of individuals occupying stands within these regions.

The municipality emphasized that this data collection is being conducted by its Housing/Revenue Assistants.
To ensure the safety and security of residents, the teams will be easily identifiable by wearing bibs.
The notice has stated that these officials will not demand any form of payment from residents.
“We strongly urge you to stay alert and not entertain unscrupulous individuals who would demand money from residents, falsely claiming to represent the council.” Reads the statement
“If any person demands cash from you, kindly report to council and visit Zengeza district offices or Head Office.” Reads the statement.

The announcement comes against a backdrop of concern regarding individuals falsely claiming to represent the council and demanding money from residents.
The municipality appealed for cooperation from the residents to ensure the success of this exercise.
The data collection exercise is underway as of today, May 7, 2025.
Residents in Nyatsime and Njanja are advised to cooperate with the identified municipal teams and to remain cautious of any individuals attempting to solicit money under false pretenses.
